A Blended Malt named in honor of the founder of Nikka, Masataka Taketsuru. Recognized as the founding father of Japanese whisky, Taketsuru was the first Japanese person to travel to Scotland to discover whisky production and bring this expertise back to Japan. As a meticulous craftsman, Taketsuru always sought perfection in blending, a trait that inspired Nikka to create Taketsuru Pure Malt. Crafted from a blend of casks from Yoichi and Miyagikyo, Nikka's two distilleries, this whisky offers a magnificent balance between great softness and profound complexity.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fruity. Marked by citrus aromas such as orange, as well as juicy pear. Complex and expressive, the nose evolves to reveal slightly herbaceous notes with a hint of peat and a light bitterness, shifting from orange to grapefruit.

Palate: Round and delicate. Cereal notes sit alongside sweet spices with a touch of cardamom. Simultaneously, the appearance of candied fruit notes with a bolder character brings depth and length.

Finish: Following the palate, a light but discreet bitterness arrives with the peat, reminiscent of a full-bodied dark chocolate.
