Le Dahu is not a liqueur with one leg shorter than the other, but a fully-fledged liqueur crafted from the maceration and distillation of sweet and bitter orange peels.

Alcohol: 40% vol.

Flavor Profile: Its dark color comes from natural caramel, a nod to an ancestral recipe from a distiller in the Isère region who accidentally let his preparation burn in a copper cauldron. Star anise, iris, and clove add a warm, spicy note to this highly digestive liqueur with a rich orange flavor.

Serving Suggestion: Perfect as an aperitif, a digestif, drizzled over ice cream, or mixed into cocktails.

The Legend of the Dahu

Once very common but practically extinct today, this mythical mountain creature has two uphill legs shorter than its downhill legs, forcing it to always walk in the same direction around the mountain. Hunting the Dahu is done at night with a bag, a candle, and a lot of patience. Whistling mountaineers are blamed for the Dahu's decline; startled by the noise, the creature turns around, loses its balance, and falls off the mountain.
